I’ll admit. When I was younger, Black History Month meant two things: writing essays on my favorite Black person and some kind of program at school (the ones at my high school included a Black marketplace though and it was litty boots). Now, in my early 20s, I can’t wait to flip the calendar to February!

June 1st, the start of a new month and also the day I decided to wear my natural hair to work.
